We came up out of the metro in Milan and this was the first thing we saw. It was truly breathtaking. We went up to the top and we were there early enough that there were hardly any other tourists.
After the Duomo we went and saw this cool castle. Sforza Castle. Housed the ruling family of Milan (1400-1500's). Was rebuilt in the 1800's. Bombed in WW2 and then rebuilt...again.
All through the trip we road on modern high speed trains. But in order to get to Cinque Terre, we had to take a local train - not quite as fancy.

Wow! I've never heard of anyone else visiting Cinque Terre besides my sister and myself. Sorry it rained on your trip, missed you in Peru.
