We missed our train stop and had to travel to the next town and wait for a train going back. It's not quite as reliable as missing your stop on the metro. Plus it was pouring rain. Luckily it stopped and the sun came out at during the late morning.

Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre is this collection of five little villages on the Riviera. It was beautiful. You can hike from town to town. Unfortunately because of the incessant rain the only trail that was open was the trail between the fourth and fifth towns. In my personal opinion it was more like a sidewalk than a trail, and more of a leisurely stroll than a hike.
