Cold...Very very cold

On Tuesday I got up to go to the gym and wondered vaguely if I was a complete lunatic because it was so cold and the car would barely start. When I got home from the gym the thought of waiting for the bus in that cold made me want to cry. I didn't cry because I didn't want the tears to freeze on my face. I got home and looked at the temperature. Yep, negative 18 without the windchill. Luckily school got cancelled so I didn't have to wait in the freezing cold with Peter.
I used to sometimes think I was exagerating when I told people about Rexburg, but now that I'm here I realize that I wasn't. The roads are as icy as ever, it's as windy as ever, it's as snowy as ever, and it's as cold as ever!

Getting Used to Rexburg

I know that being in Rexburg is going to be really good for our family but it's taking some getting used to. I miss my friends in Omaha...well I just miss Omaha in general.
These are picture of my friend, Janette and me, and also my book club. Oh book club...I miss it so much. (By the way book club members...I just read this book called Hunger Games. Couldn't put it down...but beware it is violent.)

Hair Cut

Before and after pictures of Ivy's hair cut. It probably doesn't look like she had too much cut off, but it was about five inches. I was going to have them cut more but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. She was so good too. She sat so still and was so patient.

Starting School in Rexburg

Here is Peter during his first week of school here in Rexburg. It's amazing how resiliant kids are. It didn't seem to bother him that he played alone at recess and that he ate lunch alone. The next day though he made a new friend, who just happened to be the son of one my friends who I have known since sixth grade. I hadn't had a chance to see her yet so I didn't even know that Peter and her son went to the same school, or the same class.
